The Presence

a poem

Night after night, you could hear the faint sounds of a melody for no less than an hour coming from the room.

She may have missed a meal that night, but the melody remained.

She may have lost a father that day, but the melody remained.

Though the room was void of natural light, her heartfelt words invited a presence that filled the room with light.

Light that could be seen with your eyes closed and your heart open.

Light brighter than a thousand stars.

Light more beautiful than morning glories.

More powerful than laughs.

More sustainable than bamboo.

A light that resembles the Son.

One moment in His presence melts away fears.

Destroys bondage.

Breaks every word.

Gives health to bones.

Resets time.
